Foreign Fulbright Program - Placement Timeline

Placement Timeline

The timeline was created to walk individuals through various periods of the placement cycle.

  • From September through October, IIE’s Academic Placement team receives and reviews applications for selected candidates.
  • From October through December, the team prepares and finalizes submission plans, recommends any additional testing, and applies to programs on candidates’ behalf.
  • From January through March, the team negotiates university financial support on behalf of candidates, provides additional documents that were missing from their original application, and coordinates any interviews requested by the institution.
  • From February through April, the team announces incoming admissions decisions as they are received and begins to finalize placements.
  • From April through June the team finalizes placements on behalf of candidates.
  • Between the months of May and June is when candidates’ grant documentation (AKA “Fulbright Terms of Appointment”) is being prepared.
  • Between July and August, the team updates final tuition and university financial support figures and begins to conduct webinar/video sessions with panelists for the upcoming placement cycle.
