About the Fulbright Program
The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 as a bold investment in global peace and American prosperity through educational and cultural exchange. Since then, the Fulbright Program has provided nearly 450,000 students, scholars, scientists, professionals, teachers, and artists with life-changing opportunities to study, conduct research, and teach in over 160 countries and territories around the world. The Fulbright Program provides participants—chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential—with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research. For eight decades, Fulbrighters have been leaders at the forefront of discovery and innovation, conducting cutting edge research, advancing critical industries, and preparing future generations with new skills and perspectives. Within Fulbright there are various grant categories and programs including Fulbright U.S. Student Program, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program and Fulbright Foreign Student Program.
