Work AuthorizationRequests for work authorization are taken on a case by case basis and require authorization from Fulbright/IIE before the position begins. Any funds you earn from a temporarily employment are subject to reduction based on the Fulbright country policy. The maximum number of hours you are eligible to work during semesters is 20 hours per week. During routine university breaks full-time work can be considered but must be discussed with IIE.
In order for IIE to consider work authorization please send us the following documents:
- Work Authorization Request Form from IIE
- If you are fully funded by Fulbright and you are requesting that your stipend should not be reduced you will need to include a personal statement. In your personal statement you will need to provide detailed explanation of why you feel you have additional unforeseen expenses and therefore your stipend should not be reduced
Additionally, please keep in mind that it is extremely helpful if you can send all the required documents in one email with the subject line: Work Authorization Request / Your Home Country / Start Date XX/XX/XXXX. This will assist us in processing your requests as quickly as possible. |
