Overview IIE uses the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to maintain a record of your personal data throughout your Fellowship. IIE has already used SEVIS on your behalf to generate Form DS-2019, required to obtain a J-1 or J-2 visa.
Regulations of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) require IIE to keep your SEVIS record complete and up to date at all times. It is therefore imperative that you inform IIE promptly whenever you make an addition to, or change in, any of the personal data contained in your SEVIS record. Arrival If you have not already done so, report your arrival in the United States by completing the Foreign Fulbright Student Arrival Information Form and submitting it electronically to IIE. This step is necessary to activate your SEVIS record for your stay in the United States. Identification and Location Updates Next, use the Foreign Fulbright Student Information Update Form to report: - Changes in residence address, mailing address, email address, or telephone number, within 10 days of such changes. Login with your email and password.
Other Personal Data Updates Finally, please note that you are expected to report promptly to your IIE Regional Contact any other changes in your SEVIS personal-data record—for example: - Major changes in your personal status, such as marriage, divorce, or births of children
- Name changes arising from marriage, divorce, or other cause, within 10 days of such changes
- Arrival of any dependents in the United States
